Read this before you fly. Every foreign traveller entering Thailand must
submit a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival. It is
free and only takes a few minutes. Fill it in, then save or print the QR code you
receive to show at immigration.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
Complete the official arrival card on the Thai Immigration website. Submit it within 72 hours (3 days) before you arrive in Thailand. There is no fee — use only the official site below.
Open the official arrival card→ https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/homeAfter submitting, you will receive a QR code by email. Save it and keep a printed copy — immigration officers will ask to see it on arrival.
Before you travel
- Passport valid 6+ months beyond your date of entry, with blank pages for stamps.
- Submit your TDAC within 3 days before arrival (see the section above).
- Check your visa. Whether you need a visa — or can enter under a visa exemption — depends on your nationality and purpose of travel. Confirm on the official Thai e-Visa site.
- Carry proof of onward travel and accommodation, plus enough funds for your stay; officers may ask to see these.
- Travel insurance covering medical care is strongly recommended.
When you arrive
- Have your passport and TDAC QR code ready at the immigration counter.
- The officer will stamp your passport with your permitted length of stay — check the date written on the stamp.
- Keep all documents and the stamp safe; you may need them when you leave.
During your stay
- Do not overstay. Leave on or before the date on your entry stamp. Overstaying leads to fines and can result in a re-entry ban.
- Need more time? Extensions of stay are handled by the Thai Immigration Bureau — apply before your permitted stay ends.
- Keep your passport secure. Carry a copy and report a lost passport to local police and your embassy.
